Negi sweat dropped "Sheesh....bratty little bitch." He muttered. And just followed her.
After that they seemed to somehow drift apart, no longer friends, just Student and teacher, speaking barely any words to each other.
And then the big day of the Exam came, and Negi brought everyone out of school, and to the lake where Chi used to practice "Well, here's the spot, this is where you're exam will take place." he said

Chi was hanging back with Carmen and Miau, who seemed the only two out of the entire team who weren't pissing their pants scared. Chi would've been beyond scared if it weren't for the fact she was barely awake. Her ability to stay awake seemed to be fading each night. She hadn't even bothered to spend the weekend catching up on her sleep. She had come out on her own, spending the entire day practicing.

"OK, now, you're task is gonna be...to freeze over that lake, the entire lake, for a D." he said "If you want an A, you need to freeze over not just the lake, but the waterfalls aswell." He said

There were collective arguements. "You said practice fire!" Several shouted. Chi's eyes fluttered open, and she hit her head on Carmen's arm. "I'm screwed, I already know I can't do that," She murmured.

Negi walked over to Chi, giving her one of those Drinks that would wake her up "Quit you're whyning, if you paid any attention in class, you'd notice that we were focusing on wind and ice based spell, so why the hell would I ask for fire on an exam?" he asked "Get a brain." he said "Now shut up, and get moving." He said, and then he started calling everyone in order, waiting at most two minutes for them to freeze over as much as they could, grading them, melting the ice, and calling the other student. It went on like that untill it was Chi's Turn

Carmen had managed to freeze the entire lake in a minute, though when it got to the waterfalls she only got half way up before the spell stopped and it crashed to the bottom. "Damnit, so close," She muttered then grinned to Negi. "Looks like we get to be best friends for another semester Mr. Creepier," She said.
Miau stood there for a few seconds like she wasn't able to do a thing, but it was bugging Carmen. "Stop fucking around," She shouted. Miau pouted and basically flash froze everything, including a few of the other students (but that was completely accidental). "Darn," She pouted, but only god knew why.
When it was Chi's turn she didn't want to go forward. She knew she couldn't do it. "Can I just take my zero without the humiliation," She asked?

Negi sweat dropped "Go bark and bite me ya fuck." He said to Carmen "Gade; C" He yelled.
The first thing Negi did was unfreeze the students "Overkill, Miau, A+" he said, writting that down in the grade book.
"Chiseron, just do what you're supposed to do before I throw you in there and freeze you over." He said, obviously meaning it. "GET YOU'RE ASS IN GEAR" he yelled.

"We'll take his head off later Chi, don't worry," Carmen said, patting her shoulder. Chi cringed a little at his shouting, and walking over to the edge of the lake. She sat down at the edge, getting her hands as close to the water as she could. She took a deep breath to stop the choking in her throat. The groups of chatting teens stopped, staring at Chi like she was the main event. Chi gulped, closed her eyes and tried to concentrate. There was a small flicker of the ice. She tried to move quickly, but not so quickly that the water blew up on her like it had the first time. All she got was a few centimeters long and less then a centimeter deep.

Chi opened her eyes and took the peice out of the water. What she had done was extremely fast for her, but obviously, for her didn't matter.
"Little harsh."
"He didn't need to phrase it like that."
"I've never seen her do anything, isn't that good?"
The students seemed to be on Chi's side with their murmuring, but that, again, didn't matter. Carmen came over and pulled Chi to her feet. "Come on, we'll figure something out. Wont let your mom get her clutches on you. Mr. Ting can probably hide you out," She muttered in a low tone so that only Chi could hear her.

"Hold up," Negi said, grabbing Chi's arm "you're redoing it." Negi said "Try taking the kid gloves off this time Chiseron" He said, throwing that piece of ice back into the lake.

"Haven't you been an ass hole enough Higa?" Carmen asked. "I got it Carmen," Chi said. She didn't get what the hell he wanted. She though the glove made her better, and she wouldn't even be able to freeze anything without it, but she did it anyways. She took off the white glove, handing it to Carmen to hold for her. She walked over to the shoreline and crouched down again. She held her hands over the water and closed her eyes, trying to concentrate, but she just couldn't get her mind to focus.
Carmens jaw dropped as slowly the entire lake started to freeze over. "Holy fucking jesus," She muttered. After the two minutes were up Chi opened her eyes. She honestly didn't believe it. She had actually done better then some of the other students, but one thing caught her eye. One thin line of water still lapping in one of the corners. If she had been concetrating, she would've been able to do just as much as Miau, but she had freaked out, and wasn't thinking.
Carmen spotted it and sighed. "No way," She said. "Miau," She said, walking towards that corner. "On it," She said, running and shifting into a sword as Carmen walked. She caught the maiu sword, spinning it several times in her hand. She then drove the sword into the ground and dragged it parrell to where the water line was. She pulled it out and dug her heel into the ground and literally pushed the block of earth up to where the ice was, making the part that was water disappear. "There, now it's the entire lake," She said.

WHACK. The slap over the head echoed through the frozen landscape "Moron. I was paying more attention to that than anyone else" he said. He had hit Carmen with a piece of Ice he broke off of one of the waterfalls "It doesnt matter that she didn't freeze one small patch, she froze the actualy waterfalls, fast moving water. Its not an A+ like Miau, but..." he then turned to Chi "Chiseron; Grade; A." He said, loud enough for anyone to hear.
