Negi took Carly's hand, holding it so her palm faced up, he gently put his other hand ontop of hers, and closed his eyes. From a distance, it might have looked like something lovey dovey. But a few seconds later, Negi slowly raised his hand, and a similar sphere was between his and Carly's palm "Its a lot weaker, but also a lot simpler to pull off" he said "All you need to do is make sure that you're magical energy doesn't overpower you're partners." he said "In short, the shield is only as strong as you're partner" He said

Carly blushed a little though of course hid it from the class. She fiddled a little with the charms of her bracelet.

Unfortunetly, Negi noticed her emberassment. He smiled a bit, letting go of her hand, though making sure to brush his fingers against her hand as much as possible without seeming all too obvious "Anyway, this spell will be on the exam, so I suggest you all find youreself a partner." he said, there was an odd number in this class, so some poor sucker was gonna be left on their own.

And, of course, Chi was that poor sucker, though, she could probably get Miau to help her out, she didn't have to take the test anyway, and Carmen took this class last year, so she had no need to come take it.

Carly blushed a little, pulling her hands together. "Is that it?" She asked.

[Max]

"Yah, thats it" He said "Least...for now..." he said, not stating what he meant by then. Then the bell rang "Class dissmiss." he said

Chi was one of the first ones out of the room, going to the roof to meet with Carmen and Miau.

"Is that the lunch bell?" Carly asked.

[Max]

"Yah, it is" he said "You wanna come with me to the nearby Cafe, or do ya have other plans?" He asked, he made it sound like a casual invatation between co-workers. Though of course, his mind was thinking something veeerryyy different.

[Chesa]

"Oh, sure, I was going to offer to grab something from the local convince store," She said.

[Max]

Negi laughed "Oh come on now, with this kind of salary you'd think you'd pamper youreslf a bit more" he said, walking out of the classroom.

[Chesa]

"I'm just an internee. I'm still in school, this isn't a paid job, this is part of my final class," she said

[Max]

"Ahhh...heh...well, aint taht odd?" He asked "Im younger than you and Im already teaching while you're still learning"

[Chesa]

Carly sweat dropped with a small smile. "Wow, you're younger then me? I couldn't tell," She said.

[Max]

"Hah, yah, Im 17, how old did ya think I was?" he asked

[Chesa]

"Well you seem more mature. I would've guessed 20 something," She laughed. "Had me fooled."

[Max]

Negi just laughed, ruffling up her hair "Being able to be young AND mature is just one of my natural charms" He said, laughing, taking her to that Cafe for lunch, his treat of course.
