Personality
He's somewhat cold and unfeeling, indiferent if you will. He doesnt care about oppinions he doesnt care about you're hopes you're dreams, he just doesnt give a hoot. You ether want to hire him to do a job for you or you dont, Simple as that. If you persist a little he WILL listen to what you have to say, though he will not hesitate to use what you say to make you look and feel like a complete incompetent moron. That is, if theres a way to make you look like that. If you just say something perfectly logical and reasonable, and dont sound stupid doing it, he'll just nod and be on his way.
History
Balieve it or not, Alister wasnt always an Archdemon, he wasnt even a demon, he was a simple human boy that belonged to a noble family. Born in a gold cradle, spoon fed all his life. Though he always had an odd facination with the world of magic and alchemy.
In his family, and in his city, magic was somewhat rarer than most, but it wasnt taboo or considered evil. It was just something a bit more uncommon. Like a street circus act.
Alchemy however, was stricky forbiden, and considered to be the world of the devil. Alchemy did some things magic could not, so it was imidietly thought as evil and unholy.
However that did not stop the curious little child that Alister was. Being extremely rich and influencial, he got the best magic teachers and books in all the land, and was basicaly an arcane genius at age 20. And once that was mastered, he moved onto alchemy. Of course, working in secret, ordering the more 'open minded' people to fetch chemicals and all sorts of odd herbs from forests and bring them to him, without the knowledge of the people or his parents. Years passed, and so did decades, and Alister had become somewhat of a mad scientists, his room covered in chemical concoctions.
Though one day, he got curious and asked himself "What if I combined magic, and alchemy" this was something no ones ever tried before, mostly becouse everyones ether afraid of what might happen, or simply dont think anything worth working for it will happen. So he was the first one to try. He drew a holy mark on the floor in his room using white diamond dust, laced it with all sorts of chemical compounds that turned the pearly white diamond dust pitch black, and then infused the symbol with as much magical power as he could muster.
It doesnt take a genius to know that that only ended badly. The experiment was a succses, in a way. There was no loud explosion, there was no skin melting off ones bones, there were no ungodly creatures jumping from the walls. Though what did happen, was the room filled with some sort of odd gass, and once it cleared, the symbol was gone, along with ALL of the chemicals in his room, and the diamond dust used to make the symbol. Aside from having a little trouble breathing from all the smoke, Alister was fine.
He set aside that 'experiment' as a failure, becouse, well, nothing happened.
It wasnt untill a few years later when he started to obsessively scratch his left side, and just under his right eye. There was an insane itch in those places that just wouldnt go away. He tried all sorts of medical creams and remedies, but nothing was working. The skin wasnt even red to suggest some sort of poisoning or anything. That itch caused him many sleepless nights and awkward social incidents. However, after a year of the itch not fading away, he just learned to bear it.
Though one morning, the itching stopped, and Aliter felt great becouse of it, he happily got dressed and left his room, the day looking bright and worderful to him. Though it wasnt long before a maid put a towel to his right cheek and scrubbed repeatedly. It was natural for the maids to wipe off a smudge on the face if Alister ever missed one, though this time it was taking too long, so he asked what is it. Raising up the bucket of water she was carrying to serve as a mirror, Alister noticed that something oddly shiny was under his right eye. Open a closer inspection he recognized to to be melted diamond dust, its gray, silverish, almost metalic look was a dead give away. Though what puzzeled him most was that he hadnt used diamond dust, or metal or sivler, and most of all, it was stuck on him, it didnt even feel like just a slab of mistplaced goop, it felt like it was a part of his skin. It wouldnt come off. It wasnt that much of an eyesore, plus everyone just took it for a fashion accesory. And as a fun fact, weeks later all the noble women and men, and some slightly richer viligers were sporting silver and metal accesories like that under their eyes, one or both.
Though what else he noticed was that it wasnt just that one spot that was appearing. A few months later he noticed that the skin on the left side of his body is started to become harder, and eventualy, one day, it became just like the 'eye accesory' an almost metalic silver color, though it covered his entire left side's rib cage. This was something he could easily hide, so he chose not to show anyone, and told the maids that he'd rather wash himself, since he was feeling his manlyness was being diminished by having a woman do such things for him.
Many more years passed, and that seemed the end of these odd mutations. Alister knew the cause of it all along, that experiment he tried so long ago was finally showing affects. Where one would be scared as to what this might do to him, he was just curious as to where this might lead. He had noticed some changes in his magic skills. He noticed that it was becoming harder and harder to distinguish light and dark magic Eventualy the two just fused together for him, creating some sort of odd half breed version of magical energy. Again, he told and showed that to no one.
Many, many years passed, not just decades, but centuries, his parents had died long, long ago, aswell as his relatives. He has seen five generations and still has lived, his body not changing even in the least. Many were facinated by this, but everyone brushed it off as just a miracle of his magical studies.
Though his family's decendants, his great great great grandchildren, despised him, he was always secretive and very shady, so one day he was caught in the middle of a second magic and alchemy experiment. And that one ended very, very badly. In the panic, there was an explosion, and the heir to the house was killed, but Alister had oddly survived. He was jailed, acused of murder and use of forbiden alchemy. He sat in that prison that night, when he again felt the odd itch on his back. Though this one was not anywhere near as annoying, it felt somewhat constricted. A few days later a massive pain shot through his body, and large, black feather wings just sprouted from his back. His mind numbed becouse of the pain, and the screams and yells of the other inmates and guards sent Alister into a frenzy.
He used magic to blast out the walls, and escape, killing anyone who tried to stop him. He ran, the large wings behind his back only serving as a hindrance. He escaped the city and the guards, but he fell on the ground in pain. This mutation was much, much faster, and there for the body had no time to ajust to his new DNA and body structure. He woke up a few days later, still in the same dark forest. Though the pain was gone, the wings were still there.
He could not hide his wings, he could not magicaly make them dissapear. And upon visiting a forest hermit in the area, a man that was facinated by the human body, upon letting him inspect the wings, he told Alister that removing them was not an option, for the things were dirrectly connected to his spine, and removing them would ether paralize him, or kill him.
So now he's gone to the more accepting parts of the world, where magic and alchemy are every day things. Although he is not ridiculed and hated, he's still ill-trusted and gets odd glances. But the royals and scums of the slums seem to have no trouble hiring him to make someone 'dissapear'.
Alister read once long ago in a book, that hell had created the Archdemon to rival Heaven's Archangel, Giving the archdemon wings like an angels only with feathers black as the night, giving them nearly perfect bodies, but with some flaws that could not be hidden.
It seemed to describe him perfectly, wings of an angel, feathers black as the night, a human body, yet flaws that could not be hidden.
He forsaked his humanity, and considered himself an archdemon. He never really cared for anyone else, or for 'humane' ways. So its only fitting, that he becomes whats considered the Devil's Messenger.
