When one hears that word, they think of Diamonds, Emerald's, Ruby's Sapphires, the precious stones of the financial world. The pretty, shiny rocks that cost so much money. But these are not the stones I'm speaking of right now. I'm speaking of the Precious Stones, that are inside of us. The Precious Stones that no one hears about, the ones that do not exist.
At least, thats what one would tell you, if you asked about them. Thousands and thousands of years ago, while mankind was still considered to be nothing but savages, that could barely make fire, let alone create a wall, a home, a city. These "Precious Stones" existed. They existed inside every man, inside every woman, inside every child.
If you ask "What does the human body thrive on, what forces it to live?" One would say the heart, another, the brain. But they are both wrong. Now it is easy to presume these two things are what makes a human breathe. Now, that all that is needed is to wait a period of time, wait for a new life to grow inside of a woman, and then embrace it as it leaves the womans body.
But how did it all start? How did 'human' life begin? Religion says God created two humans, and they multiplied to the vas numbers of today. Science says we came from mere slugs, our gene's evolving over millions of years. But that is not the case.
We did not come from a celestial being, we we're not grown from a slug. We became what we are, because of five little stones. Now you would say that one is mad for even thinking this. How could we come to be, from a handful of rocks?
I do not know, I will not say that we just came to be, growing from the stones. But I will say, that thousands of years ago, there was a single, or sometimes a pair, of those stones growing inside every body, every newborn carried it inside its body. Right there in the middle, a stone, or a pair, shined, giving the body life, and once maturity came, strenght.
Magic, is the result of weak stones. A child that is born flawed, its gone. It leave's a small portion of the wonders it carried in the body, as if a last gift before its destruction. At the beggining, every man woman and child had a strong stone in them, one that gave them exeptional abilities. One would ask, how could the egyptians build such magnificent structures, with the limited technology they had? Quite simple, they used the stones gifts, to move the massive rocks, and fasten them. Just lift them, throw them, and push them into place.
But over the years, as mankind became more clever. They found 'easier' ways to have the hard work done. The stones granted people exeptional abilities, but no one could lift a birck of a piramid alone, it took many, and many died from exaustion. But they did it with their own hands, with their bodies.
But mankind said "No, this is not enough." And constructed contraptions, to make things 'easier' for them. This is when the stones began to dissapear, replaced by 'magic' And still, as humanity became more and more lazy, the stones became scarse, at first there were none left, all gone as the infant was brought out of the womb, only 'magic' remaining. But even still, the stones became weaker and weaker, and even magic has become somewhat of a rarity. Now most stones 'die' just as they spark life into a child, still in the womb. Leaving no gift, but the gift of life behind.
But the stones are not completely lost, there is a tale of 5 women, who have been living since the dawn of time, that cary one stone, a birthstone inside them. A birthstone is the mother of all stones of that type. There are five. Diamond Birth, Emerald Birth, Ruby Birth, Sapphire Birth, and Onyx Birth. These five women were though as 'gods', myths. But some balieved that they are true, that they are the ones that gave the gift of the stones to the people..and the ones that took it away, as we became more and more selfish, and non-apreciative.
Are they really...or is this all just a mad-mans ramblings....
Ragna....
Jin....
Is it all a dream....?
