In the middle of the arctic ocean floats a giant glacier, home to the ice dwelling peoples of Ropor Nerhnk. The oldest country in Areth, Ropor Nerhnk is proud of it's strange embrace of the old and new. Surprisingly technologically advanced, they marry perfectly old customs with new ways.
The country's capital sits inside this giant glacier. Tunnels and caverns make up the streets, while Air pockets and dug outs create peoples homes and places of business. What makes this place really special is that no matter what, the ice never melts.
Because of their secluded placement the culture has remained nearly the same since it's start. Woman and men wear traditional clothing, and live in traditional houses, while things as new as Tv's hand on their walls, and Computers it amongst books.
The perfect harmony of this is due in part mainly to the Royal Academy of Science and Technology, where great advancements are being made. One of their best scientist is a young Trisha Limpcov, who was currently using her grant money as a pillow to sleep at her desk.
Entering the Labs of Doctor Limpcov was her single greatest feat in technology. perfect combination of cybernetics, mechanics, and living tissue that had taken form in the body of a young girl by the name of Elis. Elis was in a word, a cyborg, originally an ice dweller herself but infused with the work of the good Doctor. Because of her experimental make up the young woman constant check ups need to be preformed on her. They're long, tedious, and take much time out of her day. So walking in and finding Doctor Limpcov asleep at her desk was quite upset.
The young cyborg twitched and slammed her hand against the best, causing it to rock forward precariously and the doctor back in her chair. With a startling crash she came in contact with the ground. She let out a small yelp, rubbing her back side. "Grrr...What the hell," She grumbled, looking up at Elis, who stared back down at her. "Don't you ever sleep at your own home?" Elis asked. The Doctor stood up, collecting the papers that had fallen to the ground with her. "I have important things Happening today Elis don't set in on me, 28, 29!" She called.
28 and 29 were an interesting pair. A little projected that Doctor Limpcov had worked on in her free time. From behind a machine popped the two, barely reaching 3 feet in height, the twin Robots were the doctors assistants who, as of late, had taken to dressing like Jesters. Their strange habits would be a simple enough glitch to fix, but one that the doctor seemed fond of anyways. "Go get Elis's papers," She said. "Papers?" The boy, 28 asked. "Aye, Papers she said," The girl 29 answered. "Well what in the frozen hell does she want those for?" The boy inquired. A vien pulsed in the good Doctors head, and she had to remember she shouldn't be destroying her own creations. "She wants papers because she asked for papers! Now go you scamps before I put both of you on ice!" She shouted. The two ducked away from the ink dish that came flying their way and scurried off.
As she composed herself Doctor Limpcov looked to her 'patient'. "Where's Nou?" She asked. Elis shrugged. "Off wondering somewhere," She said.
None the less out in the streets of the city wondered a young girl of a mere 14. The 'ice princess' seemed consumed the the sparkling reflections of things she saw in crystalline world around her. Of course she should've been in school, or helping Elis, but neither of those things interested her, so she instead took it upon herself to examine the waves the stone in her necklace made as it reflected off the walls of ice.
