Alister put his hand on both the slippers, then moved it away, and viola, boh of the sandals were fixed, as if the straps had never snapped to begin with.
"Ahh, forgot to mention, Alisters quite handy with magic." the mother said, grinning proudly. "Let me demonstrate" She said, and out of nowhere pulled out a very expensive vase, and just smashed it on the ground. The husband to slapped his own forehead. "Why oh why..." He muttered. SHe just continued to grin "Alister, honey, could you-" "I will I will."Alister said, cutting her off. He walked over to the pieces in picked them up one by one, he let go of them, and they were just hovering in mid air. A minute later and he had put the vase back together, not a single crack in it. "Don't break it again, OK?" Alister asked, giving it back to his mother.

Yukimana took the sandals, looking at them. Delicately, she ran her hand over the strap where it had snapped. Not a single ridged bump, like literally there had never been a break in the first place. Sure Elementals were not astounded when it came to feats of magic. They had a certain ability with the elements of nature, but none of them could master magic.
Yukimana examined the pieces as they began to fit together, one by one becoming the vase again. "That's magnificant," She said, true awe in her voice as she watched. She never questioned where the vase came from, nor why the mother so readily smashed it (Even though her son was good with magic, it was still quite odd). She just watched as the vase became whole again.

The mother just grinned "I know right? And thats not all, he also has a big d-MMF!!" The father just slapped his hand over her mouth "Alister, would you be so kind as to Escort Yukimana to the guest room?" He asked, seemingly tired and worn out.
Alister nodded, then lookd at Yukimana "Come on" He said, walking up the stairs

Yukimana blinked, wondering what she was going to say if she hadn't been cut off. She slipped back into her sandals and followed Alister up the stairs. She kept glancing around at the layout of the house and the items in it. True she had never seen much of this. The houses back where she lived were pretty simple. In the winter one might hang a few tapestries but the rest of the time they were plain and austere.
Though that wasn't the only reason she was looking around. The man kept catching her eye. There was something about him that was almost...enchanting. Something so refined, yet wild, be it in the build of his muscles, or the shape of his eyes, it just made her heart race, which she didn't need. Exploration was supposed to fill her mind, not horomones. She was hoping she would calm down after being left alone for some time.

Alister led her to the guest room, the halls on the way were layed with a long red rug, there were plants and paintings all around. He unlocked the door and opene dit, then gave her the keys "Hope the rooms to your liking."

Yukimana looked around as she walked. She was fascinated that they kept plants indoors, and that such beautiful works of art hung on the walls. Her head wasn't on a swivel, but she was taking in everything she could. This is what she had been so excited for, to completely and totally emerse herself in to the culture of another people.
Yukimana took the keeys and bowed again. "I am thankful for your hospitality," She said. She walked into the room, closing the door once he had left. The room was fantastic, everything so elegant, so magnificently crafted. The bed and the windows were what caught her eyes in particular. In her home beds were never so grand. They slept on cusions on the floor. And no room had windows. Most had doors to the out side walkway, but never a window that gave such a beautiful scene as the outside garden.
After a moments examination of the window, she found a small latch, and gently pushing the window open. The air in the room was stale, probably from a long time of no use, so she when Yukimana opened the window a wave of fresh air came crashing down on her. She took a deep breath of the outside air and smiled.
Her things had been sent to the house ahead of her, so her small trunk was sitting in the corner of the room. She opened it up, shifting through the robes and hair care items until she pulled out a small stationary set. She seated herself at the table and started writing
Dear Ai, This country is amazing. So many things are different from our own. The people live in palaces! And their clothes are so fancy and the woman and the men dress so extravagantly. You should see the beds, they are so grand, and so comfortable. You would love the houses, you always did like things that were just over the top.
The people are so nice. I am staying with a family by the name of Aids...or Aid, I don't remember. It doesn't matter though, they are such a kind pair. They have a son, by the name of Alister. He is quite the man... very very handsome. He knows magic! Can you believe it! Real magic! It's fasinating. He fixed my zori, like they were never broken, and he reassembled a vase that his mother broke! It was just, very interesting.
I am so excited about this opportunity, I can't wait to tell you and brother more. Your loving sister, Yukimana
Yukimana looked at the letter to her sister. She loved writing, and kept diaries and sent letters. She had elegant hand writing as well, and she folded the peice of paper carefully as she slipped it into the envelope to send it back to her sister.

The day soon passed, and it was nighttime. The air was colder, but also somehow fresher during the night. The house was striken quiet, although oddly enough it still didnt feel abandoned. There were stray maids and butlers, cooks and gardeners, all of them making their way to their quarters, to get some sleep for the night.
Though if Yukimana was one to notice when things were amiss, she'd notice that there was this odd glow comming from the window. Outside, in the gardens, all the trees were glowing. Blue, Purple, White, red. These colors shown brightly from the many trees. They were lighting up the garden, making it seem much more amazing, than it seemed in the daylight.

Yukimana had gone to sleep, having been exhausted from her travels, but she had become restless in her sleep, simply from sleeping in a place that wasn't her own home. She awoke in the middle off the night. An almost dream like glow was filling the room. In a drowsy state she moved out of bed, shuffling across the floor in the white sleep robes. She peered out the window, the wind softly moving around her and opening the window again.
She stared at the trees with wide eyes. Without really even thinking she climbed onto the window ledge and softly dropped to the ground, using the wind to cushion her fall. With a moments pause Yukimana approached the trees, almost intransed by them. They were so beautiful, but they almost didn't seem natural. She had never heard of such glowing trees before. She walked over, placing her hand on the tree, looking them over. "wow..."

"Ah, you're still awake?" Alister asked, staring next to a nearby tree, a dagger in his hand, his other hand on the tree. One would think it would be odd to even be up at this hour, let alone be in a glowing mass of trees, holding a fancy dagger.
Alister turned back to the tree and positioned the dagger on it, jabbing it in, and peeling off a bit of its bark with it. When he pulled off the bark, the glow on the ripped off piece just faded away, and it just became a piece of dark brown bark. Though the part where he ripped it from seemed to be glowing even brighter, like he had pulled off the curtain that was blocking the sunlight.

Yukimana was pulled from her little daze and she snapped her head to look at the man from before. It seemed strange that he was up at this hour, and she was even more confused as she saw him peel away the bark and reach the glowing center underneath. It was strange that he was doing such a thing, but then she realized that she was staring at him again.
She looked away and bowed. "I was just awoken, I'm sorry for disturbing you," She said, though she was curious as to why he was doing such a thing. "If I may ask, are these three's natural?" She asked, standing up straight again and looking over to him.

"Not exactly, no." He said, putting the bark in his pocket. "These trees are the result of magic being fused with the seed." he said "I tried to make trees grow faster, like earth elementals can, but aperantly my type of magic is somewhat...messed up." He said "And the result of it is what you see now. Every glowing tree here grew to what it is now within a week of the seed being planted."
He didn't feel like he should disclose the truth behind how these tree's came to be. There was a feeling of magic comming from the trees, so there's no way anyone could tell him that he's lying. Plus, alchemy was illegal, and if this one were to report him, he'd probably be unharmed, but his parents would have to use up a lot of favors to keep him from being hung.

"Well they're quite beautiful," She said, putting her hand on the try. A soft smile spread across her lips as she closed her eyes. She was very in tune with nature, much more so then the normal elemental. She could feel the energy of the tree, and the magic in it let off a soft, comforting feeling. She couldn't pick up a hint of anything odd in them, just the spirit of the tree.
"It's almost as if the spirit of the tree is more alive the way you grew them, then by nature," she said softly, putting her other hand against the trunk of the tree as well. She didn't mean to get so wrapped up in them, but the feeling was just so warm.

Alister gave her a somewhat of an Ironic smile "Well, thats why its called magic." He said 'You'd be screaming murder if you knew what really made the trees the way they are now.' the thought, then yawned, anyway, I'm gonna go...also, I know you're a wind elemental...but dont go jumping out windows, its a little bit odd. Last time someone jumped out of a window here we scraped his corpse off the cobblestone." he said

Yukimana blinked, looking over to him. "Oh, that's not how elementals work," She said, bi passing over the entire 'went splat' thing. Many people had a misconstrued idea of elementals, most because of their lack of contact with other people. "We all have control over all the elements, some are just stronger in certain elements," She said.
After having explained she bowed to him again. "I'm sorry for my misconduct," She apologized for jumping out the window, but she had almost been in a trance like state because of the trees. They WERE very pretty.

Alister raised an eyebrow "...did you think I meant you can break up into wind and then reform and be alright?" he asked "This isint a bad magic act. I know what Elementals are." He said, it became natural to know these sort of things with being a 'mystic'. Someone who uses magic that has no real element or cause, its just simply magic.
He then sighed "Will you stop that already? Your 'good manners' are starting to give me a bit of a headache." He said "unless your here to offer a new set of kitchen knives to my mom, you can drop the formalities." he said
