She hadn't realized it, but tears had started streaming down her cheeks. "So...you really....have to?" She asked choking down sobs so she didn't start full out crying.

Negi twitched vissibly, he could feel his own heart wanting to jump out of his chest and smack him when he saw Chi crying "...Yah...Sorry....one year is the most time I can stay in one city...or be around certain people...and its been 9 months...I Have to leave soon." He said

Sure Miau and Carmen were her friends, but he was the only one who had ever truly taken an interest for her, done something for her, helped her learn magic, and then with her parents....
