I know Dad was a water demon, that has to have something to do with it Though past experiences had made her a bit confidential with that information, though it was obvious that this stranger was far from the norm, she didn't quite know whether to trust him yet or not.
But what if she COULD move an entire sea. That would be fantastic. She'd never have to take shit from anyone again! She could defend herself, Jane and John would stop needing to freak out like they did so often. She'd be a miracle worker if she could do such things. Jo wanted nothing but to learn. This was the type of excitement she had been begging for, and it had just walked into the tavern. What else could she ask for? If she ignored it what would she think for the rest of her life? Would she spend the her last days working at a tavern? Sure John and Jane were happy with that, but she was an oddity from birth. There was no way she'd be able to lead a simple life.
"Yes, I want to learn," She said. "But...this seems like more then a one night thing...And I don't have any money," She said. There was a certain fear creeping over her now that she thought of that one little thing. The world revolved around coins, things that she had not.

He just sighed, shaking his head "Yes this is more than a one night thing, it will take months, if not years for you to learn enough to even just move a buckets amount freely, the sea will take a life time for you to acomplish...and don't be ridiculious, if I wanted money I would have offered my services as a teacher much more formaly." He said "Though dont fool yourself, I am not doing this for free." He said
He turned to the river again, looking at the reflection of the moon "I'm going to tell you now, that teaching you by night while you have to work by day is a bad idea." he said "Right now it might seem like nothing, but you will be exausted by tomorrow night, and you wont be able to learn efficiently. You will learn, but you'll ether die from extreme exaustion, or my temper wont be able to handle you and I'll just leave." He stated. "The price for my teachings, is leaving you're current life behind." he said

Josephine froze for a moment. Leave it all behind? "What do you mean?" She asked, her voice adding a bit of dissapointment to the notion. She couldn't just leave? That'd be horrible, especially since Jane and john had been such good friends of her mother, and they had been so kind to her. Jo was starting to panic. She wanted this so bad she could taste it, but the thought of just leaving them all behind...that was a deal breaker. She could just go.
"Are you sure the night thing wont work?" She asked, much more eager to try that then to leave everything behind. She could deal with being tired. Hell she'd known this guy for just an hour at most. She couldn't just say she'd leave everything behind and go with him. He didn't exactly look like the friendly type. Just look at those wings! Blue hair was one thing, but wings? She'd never seen anything like that before. It had to be bad news.

"No." He said "Learning magic, especialy with you're amount of power, requiers-Demands dedication." he said "One to three hours a night wont do. And you'd be found within seconds. Becouse I dont think anyone can miss a massive pillar of water crashing down onto the ground when the outside and inside of houses are quiet as a mouse under a broom." he said
"This is why I said it would be hard, its not just the lessons, its the choices aswell." He said "Some things must be sacrificed in order for you to tap into you're true potencial...you're 'family' is just holding you back." He said, then sighed "...I'm not saying you can never see them again...but right now...they are a distraction. And when they found out, they'd stop you from comming to me, they wouldnt let you learn magic, they'd want you to stay a barmaid for the rest of you're life." He said

Jo felt another wave crash down on her, but if only it were just water. Now confusion was flooding over her. "Urgh," She groaned, rubbing her head. "They aren't bad people. They're just paraniod. There were some inncident with I was little.... I'm sure I could do it without having to leave," She said, like the naive child she was much more in preferance of doing something in secret then letting it out into the open and making such a big desiscion. "I don't even know you," She said, pointing out one of the big factors. "I don't know you, who you are, anything," She said.
The lake behind her was starting to bubble, like someone was blowing through a giant straw into the water. "I mean, I can't just walk off with some freaky looking stranger. That's how girls get killed!" Jo was starting to babble. The entire situation was becoming uncomfortable on her end. She didn't even know this guys name, and just look at him, he just looked like trouble from the start. How did she know he wasn't going to just kill her?

"If I had any intentions of Killing you, I would have done so, same thing for raping you." he said "Think logicaly kid. I lifted that entire river just just a movement of my hand, if I wanted to kill you or do something else to you, I could have done it hours ago, why even bother with talking with you?" he asked, then sighed "I'm just speaking common sense. Yes you dont know who I am, and yes there is absolutely no reason you should trust me. But here's the thing, Im giving you a choice, learn from me, but leave you're family behind, or stay with them, and be a barmaid for the rest of you're life, mopping floors and filling beer mugs for a living." he said
"I will not stay here, or keep comming back to teach you, you need to decide now." he said, though he was looking at the water, not her. He would have told her about what her confusion was doing, but he decided to see just how far she can go with this subconcious magical act. "Leave you're family behind, and become a great mage, so you can return one day and show everyone that you're not a freak, and you're actualy worth something." he said "Or stay, and remain the 'freaky little blue haired bar girl' for the rest of you're life." he said

This man was just making everything ten times worse. "Why do I have to decide RIGHT now?" She asked. People didn't go and make life altering desiscions like this on a whim. These two were the only link to her mother she had left. The woman that was such a hated saint. She'd be abandoning her too, and everything that woman had done to try to make her life better. Josephine wanted to learn to control this freaky ability badly, so bad it hurt, but, just leaving them all behind? Jane and John would be horrified. They'd think she'd been killed.
The watered turned to a rolling boil. Spitting out the occasional fish or two in it's wake. Jo crouched down, rubbing the sides of her head to prevent the on coming headache. Suddenly the lake just exploded. It was as if someone had dropped a bomb into the middle of the body of water, spraying water everywhere, and in turn re-soaking Jo. She blinked, With the explosion of the water coming a sudden calm as the water rippled back to it's glassy simplicity. "...oops.." she muttered.

The man just sighed, the water suddenly jumping off him and back into the lake "Thanks for the bath." he said, then looked at her "And here's my point, you're so not-in control fo you're power, that its a danger if you're ever angry or confused" He said "You'll have heated argument with you're family one of these days, its unavoidable, and you're anger at that moment might make every single bottle of water, or any type of liquid, just explode, and the shards from it will most likely kill someone, if not you too." he said
"And there's another thing. I've noticed, you're powers growing, its not just staying at one untapped potencial, its as if a beaver damn was cracked, the power is slowly growing in its mass...at one point or another, you might even be able to control the water in a human body...and that might end very badly." he said "To put it bluntly...you could litteraly blow someone up, if you dont gain control over you're abilities."

Josephine was now sufficiently freaked out. She paled the moment he mentioned death. She didn't want to kill anyone! Especially not her family. She didn't want to leave them, but she didn't want to be a danger to them either. Now it was almost like she had to leave. Her head now amazingly cleared. She stood up again. "I can't be a danger to them...so I guess I have to go," She said. The way she said it made it sound like a bad thing, but she was actually looking for an excuse like that. Being able to control the water in a human body? It was horrifying to think about, but at the same time it made her want it even more. Such an ability was just fascinating, to even think of that type of power...
"Alright, so I'll go with you...what's your name anyways?" She asked, looking over at him. Again it struck her that she knew NOTHING about him. Though he had made a logical point earlier, it was still like her to bee a little worried that something unthinkable was going to happen.

"Alister." he said, though he said it so bluntly and quickly it sounded as if he hated the question "Go get the things you want to bring with you, though you'll be carrying everything yourself, so dont take too much" he said "Also, if you want, you can say goodbye to you're family...though dont make it obvious that you're leaving." he said "I'll be waiting here."

"Alister," Jo repeated under her breath. She was a bit surprised by how he had acted when she asked such a simple, innocent question. Shaking her head, Jo nodded, heading back towards the bar. It was late enough that everyone inside was a jolly drunkard when she walked by. She went back around the back and grabbed an old crate that had once held the nights fish. Using that as a stepping stool she hoisted herself back into her room.
Grabbing the sachel fromt he corner of her room she stuffed into it two changes of clothes, two books, her other pair of boots, and a diary. The picture of her and her mother that sat on her night stand stared back at her. Josephine stared back at it, as if she was holding a silent conversation with the woman and the child in the picture. She took out the picture from it's frame and folded it up, tucking it away near her heart. She dropped her back out the window and watched it fall, making sure it didn't land on the bow that she had left by the crate.
Jo desended the stairs, standing at the base for a minute and looking over at Jane and John, who were both chatting with the costumers as they worked. " Jane," She said, walking over to her. "Oh I thought you were in bed. Said you weren't feelin well didn't you?" She asked. Jo shrugged. "Yeah, a little," She said, and then Hugged Jane. "Thanks a lot. For helping me, and taking me in," She said. Jane was a bit shocked, but just gave a merry laugh. "Of course child, now go back to bed. I think you got a fever and it's makin you dizzy," She said, patting her head. Jo gave one of her famous grins. "Yeah," She said, and headed back to her room, just to climb out the window again.
It was far past midnight when she walked back over to the lake, her bag slung over her shoulder, her bow tucked in it. "Alright," She said, looking over to the waters surfice. "Ready," She said.

"Come then." He said, the rivers water raising again, though this time it was just enough space for two people to cross over from one side of the river to the other "Come then, best leave this way, so no one sees and tells you're family" he said, and started walking. The mud was actualy frozen solid, so it was easy to talk on, not slippery, and not sticky ether. Though as Jo walkd the water behind her lowered, and the mud went back to its goopy self.
"Just a warning, we wont be staying at any nice hotel. We're going to be camping." He said "Don't expect this to be like reading a book ether, you'll be sweating, maybe even get hurt." He said "But by the end of it all...well, doing this will be childs play." he said, refering to what he was doing now, creating a path for them.

Jo watched with a certain fascination as he made a Maoist path. She was drove her heel into the frozen mud, just to test it, and then went on her way, feeling how strong it was. The river was fairly deep in this part, so they were walking down a pretty steep path. Jo was so distracted by the confused fish swimming up to see them that she almost walked into one of the walls of water herself.
She half way registered his speaking after they had entered the water wonder world. She didn't expect to be staying in a nice hotel room. She'd never been in one herself, why expect anything now. She was fine with camping. She had elemental roots...on one side of her family... She was fine with being outside.

Once they got out of the 'water wonderwold' Alister walked a bit further, and then stopped ina small clearing "This will do." He said, two trees suddenly creaked and became two small huts. Inside was just one bed, with leafs as cushion and pillow.
"Sleep for today, tomorrow you'll have to work long and hard." he said, they were still fairly close to her home, but they were over the river, and in a rather dense forest, so someone finding them was unlikely.

Jo wasn't worried about someone coming looking for her. The next morning Jane would come to wake her up, which she always did since breakfast for the people staying in the rooms was her job, and she would realize the She wasn't in her bed. The first ting she'd do is check the kitchen, then the dock, and then wait until about noon, when Jo normally came back from the forests for lunch. When she didn't come back, is when Jane would start to panic. She would send John and a few others into the forest looking for her, but Jo never went into dense area's like this. It was no good for archery. When they couldn't find her... Well... Jo guessed that she'd assume that she was dead.
Jo wrote all this down in her diary that night. She hadn't started keeping one until a few years ago, but it helped her keep her thoughts together, and helped have it so her mind was empty when she went to sleep. Jo did have trouble sleeping that night, but she managed. She didn't have anything to complain about. There was an obvious choice, and that one was hers. She stared up as she drifted asleep, thinking about about the man she haad decided to go with. His name was Alister, he knew magic, and he looked like a creeper. She wished she knew more, but her imagination ran ramipd as she drifted to sleep.
