The demons dashed through the forest. The human's had never been very good outside of open fields that laid never their lands. They may have been venturing too close to the enemy but they were taking the risk to get them out of their element. The demon's vanished into the trees, handing amongst them. Two shadow's seemed to move free of the rest of them, as if they were not attached to a body. The minute it got near a human soldier though it took the form of a tall, slender young woman with two, small bright red horns on the crow of her head. Before the human had a chance to recognize her, before he had a chance to breath, her sword plunged into him.
With the first kill, a battle broke loose, and the other shadow, the first one's identical twin, took form too. The two Princesses were fenominal, and utterly unbeatable, until the second twin met a human sorcerer....
Irene Ashendale returned to the palace with a sullen look on her face. She walked into the palace, maids chasing after her, taking her sword and wiping the blood from her face. "Where is Princesses Adele?" one of them asked. Irene looked at them, and immediately the maid knew the answer, and fell quite. The royal family was now down to three. Mother, daughter, and son.

"Come on please? Just one date! Please gimme a chance! I don't wanna be stuck with any of those annoying brats!" A certain green haired golden eyed demon begged, talking to a maid he had been talking to a lot for the past week. This was Amir Ashendale. The only remaining male of the family after his fathers death. Currently he was begging a simple maid to go out with him on a date. He was known around the palace to chase around anything with a skirt, and although a bit lecherious, he was more or less a nice person, if not a bit of an idiot.
Though with a thick skull, you'd imagine him good in a battlefield. While he wasn't horrible at fighting, even once his many instructors said he was ready for a real battle, he declined the offer to make the atempt, saying he'd rather not stick his head out untill its absolutely nececery.
He had yet to hear the news about one of his sisters death, so he was his usual self. Taking the time to attempt to get a girlfriend, before his sisters came back and ruined any chances he had by emberassing him or making him lose his temper.

Though when the door to the hall way opened and the flurry of people chasing after the heir to the throne came down, the look on Irene's face, and the lack of Adele's presence made it clear something was wrong immediately. Irene and Adele were never separate, ever. They'd slept in the same bed for years, and when it'd become clear that was no longer appropriate, they stayed in the same room, and even now their rooms had been separated by nothing but a curtain.
Irene looked like she just wanted to force everyone away, but of course she wouldn't do that. She never really had the temper to snap at people unless she was angry with them. She looked to her brother, hoping he would make them leave her be.

Amir sweat dropped "God dammit you and your ti-....miiiiiing...." He said, his voice trailing off, noticing the lack of the other twin, and the look on her face "...uhm..." he scratched his head and looked at all the servants and maids "Could you guys leave us two alone for a little...? There's something important me and Irene need to discuss...in private..." he said, as sketchy as that sounded, it was his attempt to clear the room so Irene would be left alone. Since of course, being a brother, she could read her expression like a book.

The servants did as they were told, going about doing other things. Irene stopped in front of a window, her back to her brother, arms crossed over her chest. She was silent, completely still, like the shadow she could easily become. She would've thanked him if she had the voice to do so, but at the moment she was biting back tears. Though none of her people would've frowned upon her for showing sadness at the loss of her sister, she didn't feel it was appropriate. "....She's dead..." She managed softly.

"...You know...despite how she treated me when I was little...I kinda regret telling her I hated her or told her to get mauled by dogs..." He said, scratching his head, not really an apropriot thing to say, but then again, Amir was an awkward person. "Can't really say I'm surprised but..." He put his hands in his pockets, looking down at the ground "She's actually gone...so she'll never laugh at me again or call me an idiot..." He started to shift around uncomfortably "God dammit...." He muttered, he thought he could just shrug it off and grin, make some bad joke and cheer Irene up, but even he was having trouble coping with the loss of his sister.

"I can't take this anymore...This war...all of this..." She muttered. "How many brothers and sisters, aunts and uncles, parents must we loose to this war?" She asked. "How many of our people have to loose there loved ones too it..." She said, her arms tight over her chest, almost as if she were hugging herself. She was silent for another long moment. "We have to have peace," She said, speaking words that hadn't been spoken for generations.

Amir blinked, but nodded "No argument there...hell I don't even know why this war's been dragging on for this long Peace would really benefit both sides...I think. I'm not too good with economic things." he said, he noticed how she was hugging herself, and gave her a lopsided grin "Ya know...I'd give ya a hug...but after last time...I don't care how hot you are. I'm not going anywhere near ya..." he said, his small attempt at lightening the mood. And trying to get his own mind off his dead sister.

"No one wants to submit to the other, and everyone has someone to avenge," She said, then laughed a little. "Your timing is horrible Amir, you know that? For everything it's like you don't have a clue what is appropriate and what isn't," She said, turning to face him, though the tears had slipped past her grasp, and were starting to trickle down her cheeks. Adele meant everything to her. Each had never spent a single moment with out the other. It was so hard to accept that now they were never going to be together again.

Amir sweat dropped "Sheesh...you don't have to be so harsh about it..." he grumbeled a bit, though then noticed the tears. He walked over to her "Geeze...haven't seen you crying in ages" he said, wiping her tears away as best he could with his hand "Come on...smile." he said, taking her hand in his, raising it up a bit, holding it tightly "Our families been becoming smaller and smaller...and now we're down to just you, me, and mother...I'll do whatever I can to help end this war and acomplish peace...and if that doesn't work...you can be damn sure I'm not going to let you or mother die...not that I'm planning on kicking the bucket ether." He said, and grinned "You never know what you have until you lose it...maybe if I wasn't such a chicken and came with you and Adele, this would't have happened....but I guess having regrets about it wont help anyone." He said, smiling confidently "If peace doesn't work, then I'll be fighting along side you...after all, someones gotta watch your back. You're pretty helpless on your own."
After a few minutes of silence, he looked up at her "Though, if you want, I can attempt to take Adele's place for a little while, we can even start sleeping in the same bed like you two used to" He said, grinning like the lecherious, incestious idiot he was.

She smiled at him, and in the end, just laughed, actually smiling, though it was hard to distinguish the laugh from a sob, but she hugged her brother none the less, despite his statement. "Thank you Amir," She said, and calmed down as she hugged him. "I need you to do me a favor Amir," She said softly.
In the courtyard of the human's palace a comotion arose, guards flooded in, and young Kaida who had been talking a walk caught glimpse of green hair and red horns, and immediately panicked. She rushed to her brothers throne room, coming in the middle of something, interrupting him. "B-brother!" She called, causing people to look at her. "There's an Ashendale demon on the palace grounds," She said.

Amir first was glad that Irene was feeling a bit better, though when he got her request he started to regret it. Though again, after a bit of grumbling and arguing, after getting her to agree to a certain something, he just about became the most motivated person in the world. And agreed to anything he said.
Alidaster quickly stood up from his throne "Whats the meaning of this!?" he asked when Kaida suddenly burst into the room "An Ashendale? What on earth could an unwashed beast like that be doing at our home!?" He asked "Send the guards, bring him here!" he ordered.
"Ow hey jeeze! Knock it off will ya!? I'm un armed!" Shouting could be heard, as Amir was shoved into the throne room by guards. Amir rubbed his back "Sheesh...jerks." He muttered. Alidaster just looked at Amir "You. Ashendale. What are you doing in our kingdome? Have you come to surrender and cease your foolish resistence?" He asked, Amir sweat dropped 'Yeah. Keep dreaming asswipe.' "Not quite...." he said, and then took a letter with an official seal of the royal family on it, handing it to one of the guards, the guard carrying the letter to the prince.
The prince took the letter and read it "A peace treaty?" The prince asked "Preposterious!" The king piped in "We have the prince here, lets just take him hostage and demand their surrender or else they'll lose whatever little family they have remaining!" He said
"Father. Please be quiet. This one is nothing but an unimportant pedestrian. The Heir to the throne is his sister. Irene Ashendale. Imprisoning him would give us nothing...and a peace treaty would be the best solution...the people are growing weary over this war. Another few years and we might have an uprising on our hands..." he whispered to his father, not wanting an enemy to hear "Ah..yes...indeed..." The old man said
Alidaster looked at Amir "We'll accept to nagotiations about the peace treaty. You best be generious with your offers." He said.

Kaida bit her lip and looked down when her elder brother scolded her. She always had a habit of acting without thinking like that, but at least from his reaction, and the faces of the people in the court she'd been in the right to tell him. At least he wouldn't stay upset with her like he sometimes did. Even though she was the youngest of the royal family she was still expected to act like a perfect lady.
The letter called for negotiations on neutral ground. A very powerful kingdom to their north which had refused to get involved with them until now, and was offering only a place to negotiate. If they started fighting they'd have trouble. The letter also left it open for the other family to pick the date, which Amir would relay to Irene, and Irene their hosts. They seemed honest in their wants, but not many had trust for demons, especially those who's second form was a shadow. Silent and untouchable.

"You OK?" A rather tall, dark haired Man asked. This was the black sheep of the royal family. No real responsibilities, he was taken in as an infant, just to make the royal family appear as caring people to the public at a time where an uprising was very possible. Kazel was his name, he had no real duties as someone of a royal family. He was just there, and sometimes got in the way...but oddly enough many people seemed to like him. Which was the only reason why the king and queen didn't kick him out. He had also taken a liking to the youngest girl in the family, Kaida, and was basicaly like a real big brother to her, almost always with her, chatting playing, protecting her. He was part of the reason Kaida wasn't really acting like a proper lady yet. His halarious and immature stupidity was just all too tempting.
After recieving the date on which the negotiations will commence, Amir quickly took his leave, not wanting to spend another moment in that group of snooty assholes.

She nodded to Kazel and held her finger to her lips, quieting him. Both of them often got in trouble for talking when they should've been silent, though when the demon left, she took a few steps towards her brother. "Are you really going to go through with it Brother? Are you really going to make peace with the Demons?" She asked. Only one brother had been lost to the war, but she had heard the stories of what the demons could do.
