Alidaster looked at Kaida and scoweld "This is not a matter in which a child such as yourself should stick her nose in. Go back to your room." he said, sitting back down, telling her to leave.

Kaida looked hurt, as she always did when she was told to leave, but she did a small curtsy and left silent, like a proper young lady should. She just hoped Kazel got the hint to follow her, that way she'd at least have someone to speak with.
On the given day both royal families met in the castle of the king and queen of a neighboring country. They were shapeshifters, and well known for their strength and neutrality. From the moment they entered the palace grounds they were guarded by the native soldiers, making sure they didn't cause problems. In the throne room the king and queen waited for them. The Ashendale's arrived first.Irene had brought her mother and brother with her, along with the head of her personal guard. A tall, dark skinned demon woman who seemed to be having a panic attack with the security conditions. They were seated one side of the room, while there was an area for the others when they came.

Kazel of course followed her. It would have been odd if he hadn't.
Amir sighed "Jeeze...I wonder why I feel as though I was ran over by a stampeed of horses..." He muttered, the heavy admosphere getting to him already, when they were seating he slouched in his seat looking up at the cieling "I'm warning you two. Those guys have their noses in the clouds. There was a reason I downed those 10 cups of herbal tea ya know."

His mother just rolled her eyes at him. She had been the single ruling member for quite some time, and was ready to hand the duty over to her daughter. Though it was not offical, most everything was pretty much left up to Irene at this point. She'd stopped grieving for her sister, but that didn't mean she didn't think about her still. "don't ruin anything Amir, ok?" She said, looking at him, waiting for the other family to show up.

"....I promise nothing." Amir said, not being able to promise that he wouldn't ruin it. A few minutes later, a whole bunch of people came into the room. With the fancy garbs, and how well groomed everyone seemed. It was clear that it was the Royal family. And apperantly, unlike the demons, almost none of them died.

Their escorts seated them on the opposite side of the room. Even Kaida had been told to come, though it seemed as though she was only asked to come when she might be used as a barganing chip of some sort, she never liked to look at it that way. She wished Kazel was there with her.
Irene looked over at her counterpart, the prince who, like her, was soon to take over the rule of their country. The Queen looked from her throne at the two seperate parties. "Is it true both of you come here seeking peace?" She asked. Irene nodded. "My people and I have lost too many for this to continue. I have just lost my dearest twin sister, and I no longer feel the need for this war to continue," She said.

Lucky for her Kazel was there, he had followed them on foot, since he was left behind...though he was stopped at the doors when he showed up, not being allowed to go in, thanks to no one balieving he was a part of that family. While he could have just busted through, he decide to be nice and just sit next to the door and the guards, pouting.
Alidaster nodded aswell "Peace would be preferable...while if we prolonged the war a few more decades we would win...the possibility of an uprising thanks to the many deaths from this war is not worth the risk. A peace treaty would be the prefered solution." he said

"Have you any suggestions?" Irene asked the queen. She glanced from her, to the others. "Are you both willing to do anything for peace? Absolutely anything?" She asked. Irene nodded immediately. "Yes, definately," She said, not wanting to have to deal with this anymore. A peaceful country was easier to deal with then a ravvid one.

"...If its within reasonable boundries." Alidaster said. Again, he had only said peace was preferable, not that he wanted it. Sure their demons had their odd abilities, but humans had their minds, and powerful magic. In the long run, they would win the war.

Irene looked at him. She gripped her fist. This is the man whose family had taken her dear sister from her. She was trying for peace, to stop killing HIS people. He should've been a little more greatful. The Queen looked at Alidaster and his family as well. "If you want peace, Prince, you must want it fully. There is no half peace. Tell me, have you picked a mate yet?" She asked.

Alidaster had no reactions to the queens little speech about truly wanting peace, he didn't care. The turned to her when she mentioned a mate "...Not as of yet. As you can see the king and queen are perfectly fine...I am simply still learning, for when the time comes to take over." he said
Amir gritted this teeth 'I don't like where this is going...'

"And you, Princess, have you chosen a mate yet?" She was asked. Irene shook her head. "I haven't felt it safe. In times of war it'd be painting a bullseye on the back of whoever I chose to love," She said. "Then I suggest that the best why to settle differences between two countries, is to first settle them amongst the royal families. Bind the two people, by binding the door families. A marriage of the two heirs..." She suggested.

"Preposterious!!" The king yelled, standing up, slamming his hands on the table "You expect me to give my well manered, smart, handsome son to this digusting harlet?! I am sorry but you must be out of your mind!" he yelled, though Alidaster seemed to be mulling over something "Father. Sit down. You're making a scene." He said "Alidaster! You honestly cannot be thinking-" "I said sit yourself down." Alidaster ordered. The king seemed to calm down, and sat back down.
"A marriage to restore peace is only a formality. With no emotions or family binds in place, it is simply a reason to attempt to come together and help each other. Instead of attempting to kill each other." He said, then nodded "I agree to this. At least. To Attempt it." he said "Our country allows polygamy anyway."
Amir was visibly starting to get angry "You god damn good for nothing prissy little-!" He slammed his fist on the, supressing himself before he started shouting "...Excuse me." he said, sitting back in his seat, putting his hand on his mouth, looking off to the side.

"Excuse me if I must interject," The Current demon Queen interjected. "But our kind does not allow for multiple wives, nor would it do very well to see their new king take another, especially in such troubling times. As well as for, unlike you, we do not have arranged marriages," She said, as if speaking to them like they were the disgusting ones. "Our people would be outraged to find out that their queen had married for anything other then the deepest love in her heart," She said.
Irene hadn't thought of that part, but her mother had a point. She also looked down at her brother, and put a hand on his shoulder to calm him. "It would be difficult, very difficult, and I don't think that the honorable prince could bring himself 'down' to our level," She said, though even though she said 'down' she seemed to be mocking him.

"Your attempts at insulting me are childish to say the least." he said, not affected at all "To be frank. I care not for how it is done in your country. Or for how your people will feel for your queen marrying into a political marriage, where affection is absent." He said "For me this is simply a convenience, for you this is life or a slow death at the hands of a war that is drawing close to its end." he said.
Amir looked at Irene, but then looked back out the window. He couldn't stomach it. Hell HE wanted to marry her for the longest time before he finally gave up, and now she was going to get married off to some guy who didn't give a shit about her?! "This is just wrong..." he muttered
"....How about something a little more...managable." He said "You still have a prince. And although not the heir, could it not prove at least of some political agreement by having him and one of ours marry? Although the ensurance of peace wont be a guaranteed...working together will be more possible.
